Niagara Parks Power Station

About

The Canadian Niagara power company formally open its powerhouse on the grounds of the Queen Victoria Niagara Falls Park. The company's promise of hydroelectric power took a little longer to fulfill than expected. Canadian Niagara was supposed to be generating power by November 1, 1898, but the company could not turn on the generators until 1905. Early surveyors, engineers, promoters, visionaries, and a few investors dreamed of the riches by harnessing the seemingly endless waters of the Niagara. The Niagara Parks Power Station has opened the central power station and the tunnel to the public.
